I was born and raised in a small North Carolina town with a population less than 3,000. A place where the most exciting thing that happened all year was the Watermelon Festival where folk competed to grow the largest melon.
With nothing more than grit, determination, and a "'no' is not an option" type attitude, I've traveled to 19 countries, run a business for 12 years, consulted with hundreds of clients, helped build dozens of products, and have enhanced businesses on several continents.
The work that I do is focused on one key goal: Helping people like you put more money into your pocket. Over the last decade, I've helped entrepreneurs--regular every day people--turn millions in revenue.
From before I can remember--I rely on stories from my parents--I've always been extremely inquisitive. I seldom took no for an answer without a good reason why, and "because I said so" just didn't cut it. It had to make sense to me.
That desire to understand the inner workings of, well, everything I came across fueled me to always dig for the systems, from then to now. Every time I come into contact with a business, I'm investigating what makes it work. How does an import/export business make its money? How do people truly earn passive income? What systems do artists build behind their artwork to insure that they follow their passion while also getting paid?
These questions kept me up at night, but not the way writing term papers at Davidson College and Oxford University did. I wasn't exhausted by these questions. I didn't feel like I was burning the midnight oil. I was having...fun!
Indeed, that's what running a business is all about. It starts with a tough question about how to turn your skill, passion, or idea into a product or service that solves a problem for someone.
From there, another question pops up--how do you make money on the product or service? Then how do you make it? How do you distribute it? How do you deliver it? How do you hire the right team or find the right manufacturer? And on and on.
What I quickly came to realize is that if you can get to the right question and find the right solution, you can achieve success. And when you learn how to do that, you control your success.

My rule: Play hard, but always get the job done
I take inventors and turn them into entrepreneurs. You see, inventors come up with amazing products and services, but they don't always know how to make or provide them, market them, deliver them, and get paid. But I do and I can help you develop those skills.
Even the best laid plans can go sideways. A legal snafu. Plateaued earnings that you can't seem to increase. Stagnant growth, or worse, declining revenue. There's no situation you can throw at me that I haven't seen, and nothing scares me. I thrive on difficult and I get results.
Twelve years in business has taught me that the quickest way to get things done is to handle things you specialize in and bring in strategic partners to handle the rest. I don't specialize in what you do, and you probably don't specialize in what I do. That's what'll make you and me together a great TEAM.
I began Run Success as a business consulting, coaching, and crisis management firm responsible for helping small and medium sized businesses navigate complex startup, growth, and acquisition phases.
